CASE STUDY - DORCHESTER
An area to entertain
An area to entertain
The Brief
Given free rein for the design of this garden the brief was to provide an area not only to sit and relax in this South-facing garden but to cater for those times where friends and family can come and enjoy a BBQ on those summer evenings.
The Project
One element which was a must was the Argentinian Grill. This was incorporated within a custom built structure which provided an integrated facility for food preparation and an outside sink.
Space underneath was also considered in the design for cupboard and log store.
Porcelain, limestone and clay pavers were used within the paving scheme, not only creating visual and textured interest throughout but also helping divide the whole area up into distinctive zones.
The Sapele hard wood arch gave height and structure to this garden without becoming too dominating and incorporated stainless wires running into the raised bed for climbers to grow up.
This enabled the seating area to feel somewhat separate from the rest without being completely screened off.
Continuing the theme, Sapele hard wood battens were used to produce the seating, screening above the sink area and the door to the cupboard. Once treated the colour complemented the clay pavers.
Raised sleeper beds were constructed in the lawn area not only to house the spoil generated from the project but provide height for the planting and places to relax for those enjoying something from the grill.

Customer Feedback
From initial design to completion Dale was professional, hard working and knowledgeable about all aspects of landscaping. He was open and amenable to any suggestions I had and managed to create a beautiful space that incorporates an outdoor kitchen, seating areas and new lawn.
I've already recommended him to family and friends.
